Seascapes

For this assignment, I chose to shoot the New England coastline, since it's so interesting to look at. I took these pictures pretty close to the water, maybe 50 feet away at the most. I created foreground, middleground and background in all of the shots using the land, sea, and sky. All of the pictures were taken from a straight forward point of view. Most of my photographs are horizontal except for the middle one in the first row. I did for the most part incorporate line, shape, pattern, and texture into each picture, using the different cloud shapes, rock textures, and horizon. I made sure to take most of these pictures either on cloudy days or at dusk so that I could use the natural light as best as I could. By making sure there were pieces of land in the picture, I created different depths in the picture. The photos say that though the New England coastline is visually exciting, it isn't the best place to go for a beach party- just look at all those rocks!
